Le Piume Nere - Filippo Cevasco, un aviatore proletario

Il libro esplora la vita avventurosa di Filippo Cevasco, nato in una famiglia di umili origini (da qui il titolo) ed emigrato in America del Sud dove svolge numerosi lavori. Rientra in Europa e per inseguire il sogno del volo, lavorando per la Gabardini, come collaudatore e pilota istruttore. Con i monoplani della casa novarese compirà raid audacissimi, conquistando diversi record mondiali.

Il 2 giugno 1914 parte da Cicognola per un volo di allenamento, ma precipita nelle acque del Ticino morendo annegato, a soli ventiquattro anni.

Il libro di 78 pagine, in formato A5, contiene 35 fotografie in larga parte inedite, due trittici, un profilo a colori ed un disegno al tratto.

The book explores the adventurous life of Filippo Cevasco, born into a family of humble origins (hence the title) and later emigrated to South America, where he worked in a wide variety of jobs. He eventually returned to Europe to pursue his dream of flight, joining Gabardini as a test pilot and flight instructor. With the monoplane aircraft produced by the Novara based company, he carried out extraordinarily daring long distance flights, setting several world records.

On 2 June 1914, he took off from Cicognola for a training flight, but crashed into the waters of the Ticino River and drowned at only twenty four years of age.

The 78 page A5 format book contains 35 mostly unpublished photographs, two triptychs, a colour profile, and a line drawing.
